1. Tell us about your life journey, Deepika?

“What if everything that you start or try to build only fails and everyone tells you to Quit?”

That is what I felt for most of my life. Having been born in a family of Entrepreneurs, I aspired to start something of my own that would help me to fit in. But nothing seemed to work. It shattered my self-esteem.

I remember crying at night and wondering am I ever going to achieve anything? Or will I just be a failure all my life?

This constant worry and negative outlook pushed me towards a depression zone. I disconnected from everything. I left my job and was at home for 6 months.

It felt good at the beginning because I stopped worrying. No more constant thinking. No making plans. But then something else started happening.

I am getting anxious that I can’t live on like this!! All my friends are moving forward. They are on my dream vacations, always seemed happy and for me even to smile seemed like an enormous task.

To my astonishment, my father and mother helped me find answers to everything. A lot of people today are skeptical about God, magic, energies, and the Power of Praying. But I experienced everything first hand. They helped me start my spiritual journey. All 3 of us started Meditating together. It helped me control my overwhelming emotions. It helped me be silent from within without worrying about what is going on.

I applied whatever I had learned during my job. I started my own Instagram page and kept experimenting until I found the winning formula. The formula helped me cross 98k followers yesterday and affiliations from top brands.

Today I own a Marketing Agency that helps businesses accelerate their growth and get more sales. My other venture Fempreneur Zone helps Females create their business from scratch.

Females who have the vision to make their dreams a reality through Mentorship, Mindset Training, and Skill Set Training.

2. What prompted you to take up social media video marketing?

To be honest, not in a million years I thought this was ever possible. Making videos was scary. I have been into Social Media Marketing for the last 5 years.

Making videos started as a joke. I love talking and that too so much that my family got bored listening to me. That’s when my brother jokingly said ” Talk so much on Social Media and who knows you may even get paid for it”

It made sense…

I bought a tripod off Amazon, set my phone on the video recording mode and then I went blank…

I had prepared what to speak about but I could not remember anything when in front of the camera. It made me really nervous even though no one was in the room. I kept pondering why this is happening!!

The next day while I was trying to record in front of the mirror, I saw my reflection and it all made sense.

I was not afraid to make videos but I was afraid of what will happen once I post it online. What will happen when people don’t like my content…

I gave up for a few days but eventually with a little nudge from my firm supporters aka my family, I started again.

I remember the first video I ever posted was of exactly 20 seconds. I posted it on Facebook and deleted it an hour later. I can still feel the nervousness of that day. That experience changed everything. Recording Video was fun and I wanted to become better at it ASAP. So I created a closed Facebook group, added my close family and went live each day for 30 days. That really helped.

Their encouragement and my love for being on Camera helped me reach where I am today. Today, one of the marketing services I provide is Video Marketing, whereby I help brands Level up with Videos.

Wondering why hashtag#LinkedIn is not working for you?

3. How can Businesses leverage video stories for Instagram and LinkedIn marketing?

I think businesses still don’t understand the power of one viral video. Let’s take an example of Sanjeev Shrivastava. I know you are thinking who is he??

Let me reframe: Let’s take an example of Dancing Uncle. Now you know?

This man loves dancing, and on Facebook and BOOM!!

That one video made him an Internet celebrity overnight. That one video helped him meet Salman Khan and Govinda. It helped him get cameos in famous TV shows.

That’s the power of one video. Imagine having 5 to 10 videos like these!

Instagram and LinkedIn are the hottest Social Media Platforms today. But they are also crowded. Every second a post is being posted. It’s difficult for a consumer to retain so much information. But with videos, it’s completely different.

Especially videos that tell a story. A big part of my Video Marketing journey is incorporating a story that helps to create that emotional angel for the viewers.

And we all love a good story.

If a business is able to successfully fuse a good story with a catchy video nothing is impossible. With videos, they can say a larger picture of their ‘Why’ in a more productive way. In recent times, the brand that has incorporated this really well is ‘ Trivago’.

They included the story of how every one of us needs a hotel that is BEST but still not heavy on our pockets. We need the best when traveling which does not hurt our budget.

So they picked a company employee and ran ads with this story.

And they did get results.

4. How to measure results (ROI) through video marketing as per your learning?

According to me, the best way to measure results is to see the awareness it has created for the brand.

I emphasize that any video that is being created should always have a CTA aka Call to Action. This helps to measure the accuracy of the results that were predicted.

The following questions might be helpful for the content creator and brand when drafting their Video Marketing Strategy:

1. Will it have an impact on my existing Target Audience?

2. Will it help to reach out to new clients?

3. Will it help build curiosity around the brand?

4. Is it engaging for the Audience?

5. What would be your best Video Marketing tip to newbies?

Anyone who is starting with Video Marketing should remember to stay close to the message they want to convey. Yes, creativity should be involved but not to a point where it turns out in a different way.

One wrong move and the video may end up as a PR disaster.
