Q. Tell us about your life journey, Ruchika?
I am a Video creator, Traveller, Public Speaker and a Mountaineer, Persuaded Engineering and Journalism.
I have also done basic Mountaineering course from Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, and was elected general secretary of Maharana Pratap agriculture and technical University, Udaipur in 2014-15.
In my childhood I was the girl who hasn’t spoken a single word on the stage but today we are creating videos on travel, food, culture and social issues. We have created video on different travel places of India.
This thrilling experience has landed me in lots of trouble with family and relatives. Being a small town girl, travelling and covering the events through videos are not acceptable by society, especially for a solo girl traveller.
We have created videos on Chadar trek – the most difficult trek in India.Recently I have done Macha Dhar trek 16,300ft .
Q. What prompted you to start creating Video content?
I love to speak and tell about good travel places and hence started my Youtube channel Fireflydo back in 2018.
Not only travel places, for social issues we actually have taken an initiative – #MakeFatehsagarPlasticFree campaign, where we have created a lot of videos creating awareness for a clean lake/ society and now people are aware about these social issues.
Q. How was your first experience of creating a video?
I still remember when I made my very first small travel video on Kumbhalgarh- the king of fort.
The success of that video motivated me to create more of these videos.
So I started creating travelling videos, so the beauty of nature and the culture of diverse india is known to all.
Q. Can you tell us more about your most successful/ interesting video you have created and what is your learning?
I would like to mention a few of my most viral videos.
Cleaning Campaign of Bahubali Hill in Udaipur City got terrific response over Instagram and Facebook, a pretty successful campaign over social media.
Another video was on Freedom of Ladakh, which too got good reach especially during the Independence Day.
And the latest video on potholes around the city was a great success on FB and Instagram. It is named –
“गड्ढोत्सव : The festival of incredible INCREDIBLE INDIA”

Q. What tips you’d like to give to someone who is a newbie to Youtube video creation?
“Patience is the only key”.
You should not make videos with the aim to get them viral but you have to make videos consistently as you don’t know which video will go viral.
So the suggestion is to create some valuable content for your audience which will create awareness.
